College Baseball: Rested Florida Southern Can't Get Past Saint Leo

SAINT LEO | Florida Southern returned to action following a nine-day layoff with a 7-2 loss to Saint Leo on Tuesday evening.
The Mocs trailed by just two runs heading into the eighth inning but pinch-hitter Kory Wan slammed a three-run homer to put the game out of reach.
The Mocs were led by Kyle Jackson and Dominic Brugnoni, who picked up two hits each. Jackson also had an RBI.
Steven Burnham (1-1) picked up the loss after lasting just four innings and giving up three runs on three hits and three walks. Burnham also struck out three.
The Moccasins (5-11) will open Sunshine State Conference play with a three-game home series against Eckerd. The first game is set for 6 p.m. on Friday. The series is set to conclude at 1 p.m. on Saturday with a doubleheader.
Florida State 9, Presbyterian 2
TALLAHASSEE | Florida State (11-0) kept its undefeated record in check as the Seminoles defeated Presbyterian College.
Stephen McGee paced the Florida State offense with a career-high four RBIs. McGee finished the game 2-for-4 with a double and his first career home run.
Florida 8, Jacksonville 5
JACKSONVILLE | Florida took advantage of an error-prone Jacksonville team to pull out a victory.
The Gators scored the winning runs thanks to two passed balls in the seventh inning. In the sixth, the Gators took advantage of two errors to score three runs to take a 4-3 lead.
Jacksonville stormed back with two in the bottom of the sixth but its defense let it down again.
Florida tacked on two more runs in the ninth thanks to another error and a sacrifice fly.
Harrison Bader led the Gators at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Casey Turgeon also scored three runs and went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Miami 6, Maine 2
CORAL GABLES | Thomas Woodrey went eight innings and surrendered just three hits as the Hurricanes defeated the Bears.
Miami (11-2) took a commanding 6-1 lead with a four-run seventh. Brad Fieger had a two-run single to highlight the inning. Fieger now has a 12-game hitting streak.
North Florida 9, Central Florida 5
ORLANDO | North Florida cranked out 17 hits in a win over Central Florida.
Joe Wielbruda and Corbin Olmstead both collected three hits and every position player outside of the pitcher got a hit.
Drew Weeks, Tyler Marincov and Alex Bacon each cranked home runs for the Ospreys. Bacon also had a double and finished with 4 RBIs.
The Knights were led by Erik Hempe, JoMarcos Woods and Spencer Hayes with two hits apiece.
