Wintery Texas wedding: Amy + Cody
17 Dec
Amy + Cody rightfully dubbed their wedding ?rustic Celtic?. They found fun ways to honor their families traditions and heritage by adding rustic touches like burlap, antlers and horseshoes (a little nod to their Texas roots), and incorporated their clan?s tartans, Scottish thistle and bagpipe music to represent their Celtic heritage. The Nichols fell in love with these two after photographing their engagement session?and did a fabulous job capturing their wedding, no?
The most memorable moment of our wedding day was the beginning of the ceremony. After being cold, overcast and windy all day, the sun came out from behind the clouds and the air was calm as our bagpiper broke into the strains of You Are My Sunshine for the processional.
My mother and I baked Scottish shortbread cookies for the wedding favors, embellishing each one with a thistle cookie stamp before they went in the oven. We gifted them in muslin bags, which I personalized with a unique ink stamp featuring a horseshoe with a shamrock in the middle.
Cheers to the newlyweds!
