A Bank Heist Gone Bad! How will you handle it?

Greetings my fellow writers,

Hooray! I have finally found time in my life to circle back to this idea and make a worthwhile RP out of it. For a long time I have wanted to see this idea take off and now it can, but only with your help. :)

I would first like to state some general rules and expectations for the RP:

  • Be dedicated. Please see the RP through to its conclusion.
  • This is a literate RP, 400+ words per post should be the minimum expected length.
  • One-two posts per week is a reasonable posting pace in order to keep things moving and everyone interested.
  • Please tell me if you will be gone for a week or more. I'd hate to boot you for that reason.
  • Feel free to post in the OOC, make friends, share videos, talk about the next scene. I personally enjoy my time in OOC as much as actual IC posting.
  • Feel free to ask me anything. I am on very frequently and am happy to hear your ideas, questions, concerns.

I believe what I haven't listed above should be aspects of common sense and basic courtesy you should already know.

Now on to the actual plot. There is a group of masked individuals currently holding an unknown number of people hostage at the Grand Northern City Bank in downtown California. Tensions run high as law enforcement scrambles to identify the perpetrates and develop a strategy to handle the hostage situation. Superiors fight to control the highly media covered bank robbery and show how their policy will defuse the situation. Inside the bank is just as tense, if not more so than outside. Hysterical hostages create chaos and illicit violent reactions from the more unstable of the hostage takers. The robbers never signed up for this, it was supposed to be an in and out job. But now they're trapped with no way out, boxed in on all sides, or are they? Accusations fly, betrayal abounds, secrets are revealed, lives ruined and the truth is still nowhere to be found.

I would like to start the RP a few days before this actual heist. In order for everyone to become acquainted with each others characters and writing styles. The robbers should be a group of people that has known each other for several years at least, each person having a particular task and function during the heist. We could start with them planning the current heist, set up some of the upcoming drama and began character development/exploration. The level of complexity this robber group operates on however, I will leave it up to the players to decide. Is this a Heat level operation? Super hackers, assault rifles? Or more of The Town type group?

There is a possibility for someone to play a law enforcement character if they have an interest in doing so. Otherwise I will control the majority of that aspect of the RP. I will also be controlling the hostage NPCs, unless for the above reason or someone has an interesting idea that they would like to use one of them for.

Once I see how much interest this idea generates, I will start narrowing down the story arc and the roles that would be needed for it to be successful. :)

I can't wait to hear what you think of my idea and I look forward to starting on a literary journey with you! :)

Stupidity is the only universal capital crime.

Beware the person who has nothing to lose.

There is no limit to how bad things can get.

Someone once asked me, 'Why do you always insist on taking the hard road?' I replied, 'Why do you assume I see two roads?'

Depression is merely anger minus the enthusiasm.

Let no one think I gave in.

I chose to quit.
