Summary:??This position is with the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) located at 2015 Grand Ave., in Des Moines, Iowa.? This position would be responsible for entry level communications/marketing duties.? The applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited university.? Knowledge in the following preferred:

The emphasis of this position will be communications technology and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Web site design experience (Programming experience preferred)
Experience writing marketing materials such as news releases

General Duties

Communications Technology

Assist in updating all IFA web sites using a content management system.
As directed, work on all IFA Web sites, ensuring that information is accurate and accessible and that appropriate technology is used to effectively communicate online.
As directed, write and distribute IFA newsletters using Constant Contact.
Assist in maintaining IFA?s social media initiatives.

_?Media Relations

Manage and continually update an inventory of all Iowa media and targeted regional and national media.
Assist in writing news releases in cooperation with the communications staff.
Manage the media center at?www.IowaFinanceAuthority.gov, creating and posting news releases, story ideas, FAQs and other appropriate information.
In cooperation with the Communications staff, pitch story ideas to targeted media and make appointments for the Executive Director or other IFA staff to be interviewed by targeted media.

Public Events

Assist the Communications staff in coordinating several annual and special events including the HousingIowa Conference.

Other

Assist with other projects as assigned
